The CLIMBING WALL INSTRUCTOR Award trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on purpose built artificial climbing walls and boulders.

The CLIMBING WALL DEVELOPMENT INSTRUCTOR Award trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to teach lead climbing skills on indoor or outdoor artificial climbing walls and structures with fixed protection.

I provide Technical Advice for a limited number of organisations and specialise in Articifical Climbing Structures. Having opened a major climbing wall, managed 2 large commercial walls, worked in walls for 20 years and as a provider of the CWA/CWLA, Coaching Awards, a Moderating Technical Expert for NICAS and a provider and trainer of providers for the MCofS FUNdamentals I have a huge experience to bring to bear on options for running a variety of different climbing wall types. The FOUNDATION COACH AWARD is designed to enable coaches to be more effective in coaching the fundamental movement skills of climbing. Foundation Coaches will usually be concerned with the stimulating delivery of a single session to a group of individuals.
The DEVELOPMENT COACH AWARD focuses on the development of climbers over a series of sessions. As a coach you will add to your existing coaching skills and learn how to deliver ‘climber centred coaching’ to individuals as part of a group.
